Ms. Kathryn Mikol

Kathryn Mikol from Bedford High School is our February hero. Kathryn is the general manager of Fueled by Kids, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that anonymously provides nutritious food to students struggling with hunger and food insecurity.

Each week volunteers pack more than 1,000 bags of food, which are distributed to kids at 21 schools in Manchester.

More than 1,000 hours of volunteer work go into the program every year, and because the need is so great, they have also started a summer program. This volunteer led effort runs with no overhead, or administrative costs and 100% of donations go directly to providing meals.
