We are also excited to open our doors to the public this spring, starting with LYS Day (Local Yarn Shop Day) at the end of April. This nationwide celebration encourages people to visit their local yarn shops and show support for the fiber arts community, and we can't wait to be a part of this special day by welcoming our community into our new Londonderry location.
2) Please tell us how your business supports your community, and the State at large.
At Hypnotic Yarn, we believe that creativity and connection are essential, especially in today’s fast-paced digital world. Our business brings people together through a shared love of knitting and crochet—hobbies that provide not just an outlet for artistic expression, but also a powerful way to reduce stress, anxiety, and foster mindfulness.
Beyond providing high-quality, hand-dyed yarn, we cultivate a vibrant community where fiber artists can connect, learn, and find joy in their craft. Through our Yarnable subscription and online presence, we support thousands of makers, offering them an opportunity to prioritize self-care while engaging in something they love.
Locally, we contribute to New Hampshire’s small business ecosystem by employing local talent, collaborating with regional artisans, and sourcing from other small businesses whenever possible. As we open publicly this spring, we plan to actively participate in and promote local craft events, knitting groups, and initiatives that bring people together through fiber arts.
On a larger scale, we empower small business owners in the handmade industry through coaching, education, and mentorship, helping them build sustainable businesses that contribute to the state's growing creative economy. Our commitment to fostering connection, creativity, and mental wellness extends beyond just selling yarn—we create a supportive and inspiring space where makers of all levels can thrive.
3) Please explain your vision for the future of the company.
At Hypnotic Yarn, our vision is to continue growing as a hub for creativity, connection, and self-care through fiber arts. We want to expand our impact by providing more opportunities for knitters and crocheters to engage with their craft, connect with others, and experience the joy of making.
Key Areas of Growth:
As we prepare to open our doors this spring, we recognize that the upcoming closure of Joann stores in New Hampshire and across the country has left a gap for many crafters who relied on those stores for supplies and support. In response, we're hopeful that by offering some budget-friendly options, we can help make hand-dyed yarns and premium fibers more accessible to everyone, while still maintaining the quality and craftsmanship we’re known for.
We are developing new offerings, including a no-rinse wool wash and thoughtfully designed accessories to enhance the knitting and crochet experience.
Through our coaching and education initiatives, we will continue supporting handmade business owners in scaling their businesses while maintaining work-life balance.
We plan to host more interactive events, virtual workshops, and collaborations with fiber artists and designers to create a more connected and inspired maker community.
As we grow, we are committed to maintaining the handcrafted artistry and personal touch that set Hypnotic Yarn apart. Our focus will remain on high-quality yarn, vibrant colorways, and outstanding customer experiences.
Ultimately, our vision is to create a business that not only provides beautiful products but also fosters joy, inspiration, and connection—ensuring that the fiber arts community remains a thriving, supportive space for makers everywhere.
4) Why should you be selected as the Primary Bank ‘Prime Time Business?
Hypnotic Yarn should be selected as the Primary Bank Prime Time Business because we are a community-driven, innovative small business that is not only growing but also actively contributing to the local economy and the fiber arts community. Over the years, we’ve cultivated a loyal customer base by offering high-quality hand-dyed yarn and fostering meaningful connections through our subscription service, local events, and workshops.
We are committed to creating a space where makers can connect, learn, and thrive. Our recent move to a larger location in Londonderry, NH reflects our dedication to expanding and deepening our impact locally. We believe that businesses like ours, with a passion for creativity, community, and self-care, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and in the wider New Hampshire business landscape. Winning this contest would allow us to reach a wider audience, enhance our visibility, and continue to build connections that strengthen both our business and the community.
5) How would winning this commercial campaign help support the future growth of your business?
Winning this commercial campaign would also allow us to promote upcoming events, such as hand-dyeing workshops, Sip & Stitch nights, and Make-alongs, bringing new customers through our doors and engaging the local fiber arts community. We’re excited about the opportunity to create a welcoming space for knitters and crocheters of all skill levels to connect, learn, and share their passion for making. By making us more visible in the community, this campaign would provide the support we need to grow our customer base, expand our product line, and continue to invest in our team—all of which will help establish Hypnotic Yarn as the go-to destination for fiber artists throughout New Hampshire.
