The Copper Cave
Meet The Copper Cave, of Plaistow, NH
Salt cave and wellness sanctuary. You deserve to take time to rest, recharge, and focus on yourself. Self-care is not selfish and here at The Copper Cave we invite you to come in and leave your worries at the door. There are so many reasons to visit a Salt Cave, but the best part is…. you don’t need an excuse!
We invited the team at The Copper Cave to answer these 5 questions:
1) Please tell us about the company, describe its business activities, its mission statement, and any historical milestones since its founding.
The Copper Cave is a Himalayan Salt Cave and Wellness Sanctuary located in Plaistow, NH. It offers a dry salt therapy called halotherapy in a stunning, handcrafted pink Himalayan salt cave. Halotherapy has a number of therapeutic benefits, including tremendous benefits to our respiratory systems, sinuses, skin and mental health and has been gaining popularity in recent years. Using salt for medicinal purposes dates back thousands of years. In a search for more natural remedies, people are rediscovering the incredible antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties of salt, leading them to discovery halotherapy.
The Copper Cave also has a gift shop where you can find locally handcrafted goods, wellness products, tea and, of course, unique salt products like the wildly popular "foot domes," which are warm Himalayan salt lamps made for the feet. Clients love to relax in our sitting area after their sessions, enjoy a cup of complimentary tea and use our warm foot domes.
The mission of The Copper Cave is to promote self-care on all levels, mind, body and spirit. Owner and creative mind behind the business, Deb Sansoucie, saw the need for a healing space in her own community that would offer a combination of wellness and energy healing modalities. She is excited to be offering this space to a community that she has lived in nearly her entire life. The Copper Cave motto is
"you don't need an excuse" because so many people feel like they can't take the time for themselves for downtime or self-care. We live in a "busy culture" society and Deb felt that it was important to provide a place where people can make an "excuse" to come and slow down. It's a wonderful place for friends to visit together or gather while doing something healthy.
Besides the halotherapy Cave sessions, which are offered daily, a number of other healing modalities that incorporate the mind/body/spirit philosophy such as yoga, sound healing, energy work, and massage are offered, both in the Cave and in the Treatment Room. The Treatment Room is a beautiful room where various practitioners rent space and offer their services such as massage and energy work.
One major milestone that was met last year was hiring the first employee! That has led to increased hours and the Cave is now open seven days a week.
2) Please tell us how your business supports your community, and the State at large.
The Copper Cave has become a respite from the stresses of the outside world for so many people. Many clients come regularly in order to quiet their minds and reset their nervous systems in the serenity of the Cave. Sometimes people stop in just to shop around because they feel very relaxed and grounded in our space. Deb is proud to have created a space where people feel welcome, cared for, and relaxed. It is a wonderful space for friends to gather and catch up in a unique and health-conscious way. We have lots of groups visit, celebrating birthdays or other milestones, or for yearly friendship gatherings.
Being one of only two traditional style Himalayan caves in New Hampshire, people travel from all over New England to visit. Visitors have come from as far as Texas and New York! Introducing and spreading the word on the benefits of halotherapy throughout our community and the state has been a goal we are continually working at.
The Copper Cave has also provided employment for a number of other local small business independent contractors, which Deb is also very proud of! She seeks out like-minded individuals to offer healing modalities and events, such as yoga classes, meditations, energy work, sound healing, and massage, as well as featuring locally made goods from the Plaistow community and New Hampshire.
3) Please explain your vision for the future of the company.
Deb's vision is to continue to grow a community of clients and practitioners and to continue to add new and unique healing modalities. A steady stream of clients using the cave and visiting each day would be ideal!
A higher volume of business would allow for increased staffing or more hours for the current employee, who is very happy here. Halotherapy does have a bit of seasonality to it, with the summer months being very quiet. A higher volume of business would lower the business impact of the "slow season."
Many folks who have come to visit from other areas have expressed the desire to have this closer to them. A long-term dream is to possibly expand to new locations further north in New Hampshire. Adding an infrared sauna with halotherapy is in our short-term expansion dream for the current location.
4) Why should you be selected as the Primary Bank ‘Prime Time Business?
First and foremost, The Copper Cave uses Primary Bank as its business bank and Deb LOVES them! This business would not have been possible without Primary Bank. The loan for the construction of the Cave itself was obtained through Primary Bank and partnering with them on this advertising project would be amazing. Deb loves how supportive they are of small business in New Hampshire.
Deb has worked very hard to market this new business, but finds the marketing aspect challenging, and sometimes overwhelming. This business is owned and run by one woman (it's me -- Deb!). I'm very proud of where we have come in only two years and would welcome some help in the marketing department.
The Copper Cave is a people-centered business with great vibes that encourages people to come together. The world needs more of that right now! Plus, this business promotes health and wellness through natural healing, and it deserves to grow so that people everywhere can learn of and take advantage of its benefits.
The Copper Cave should be chosen because it is a unique business that is helping people in a positive way and more people in New Hampshire should know about it! :-)
5) How would winning this commercial campaign help support the future growth of your business?
Owning a new small business has many challenges, but owning a unique small business is even more challenging. Business has been steadily growing, but we still need to increase the volume of business to be successful long-term.
Getting the word out that we exist has been the first hurdle. Educating people on what the business is, and the benefits of it, has been a second hurdle that we have had to get over. Having a commercial where we can expand the reach of our business AND continue our goal of educating people on the benefits of halotherapy throughout New Hampshire would be simply amazing! Social media advertising has been the most effective marketing to date, but there is a large population of people that don't use social media that we are not reaching. A television commercial would reach a large population of people that we haven't been able to access yet.
